Renewable Green Energy
Green Energy Society is focused on the fact that our modern society can not sustain its' current level of resource use and survive. With the population in the billions, and the current shortages of fossil fuel, water and food, we must take action now.
Here in the United States, we have the right to either "choose" to go green, or "choose not to" use green energy. If the majority continue to choose to not go green, I am afraid that the result will not be a pretty picture. Great wars between Nations attempting to secure what is left of the limited resources will occur more often. As resources dwindle it will lead to the modern machine breakdown. Where will the Farmers get the needed resources to plant and harvest the food we need?
The summer of 2008 completely changed my view about "Green Energy". That's the summer me and my brother made a decision to leave society and head for the remote desert with solar panels in hand.
If I had to choose one single word to describe this experience, it would have to be; wild. Green energy was our only alternative for power because we were so remote that there were no power lines. One reason for the need to have power was my brother was working on the translation of an old manuscript and needed to run his laptop.
We were dropped off by another party who was to return in a few days, by then we would
have made a list of anything we may have forgotten for the solar energy system, etc. However, we ran into one really big problem, the other party left us stranded there in the desert for almost a month.
If the party had returned, one of the first things we were going to do was pick up the materials to build a 12' x 12' shelter in order to get out of the scorching Sun. The materials we did have were for constructing a mount for the solar panel array. It didn't take too long to decide that what little building material we did have, were going to be used for a shelter. It wasn't much, just a few 2' x 4's wrapped in plastic tarps that beat your eardrums to death when the winds blew.
